Final reviews of "Far Beyond 1m²: Repair and Resilience for Casablanca" Design Studio
This semester, the 2nd year's design studio focused on Casablanca, addressing the critical lack of green space, extensive soil sealing, and the pressures of densification. Rather than approaching urban growth through demolition or expansion, the studio framed repair and adaptive reuse as key architectural strategies to strengthen urban resilience in the context of climate change.
The final jury took the form of a presentation of group projects, in which students explored strategies of repair and revitalisation across different urban conditions. The groups were organised around the topics of vacant buildings, commercial spaces, parkings , and natural areas, combining metropolitan-scale analysis with site-specific design proposals.
