Kristina Shatokhina

Kristina Shatokhina is an architect, writer and a PhD candidate at the University of Luxembourg. She graduated Master’s in Architecture from the University of Luxembourg with distinction in 2024, earning the OAI Award for her thesis “Re-enchanting Ruins”, which explored the politics and processes of ruins as tools for collective transformation.
With a strong interest in history and heritage, Kristina’s work bridges architecture, storytelling, and socio-spatial research. Her experiences range from contributing to the reimagining of Tate Liverpool during her time at 6a architects office in London, to participating in The Great Repair exhibition by ARCH+ in Berlin, exploring various approaches to urban regeneration.
Her current research focuses on the politics and imaginaries of urban decay, drawing on alternative regeneration practices and feminist methodologies.
Kristina is co-directing the university's student magazine ROUX, fostering creative participation on campus while building cultural connections between students and local cultural actors such as MUDAM, Casino Luxembourg, and Rotondes.
